Marc Thirouin (1911-1972) was a French jurist and ufologist. Born in Chartres, he became a lawyer while pursuing interests in the study of ufology and the search for Atlantis through the Société d'études atlantéennes. He founded the Ouranos Commission in 1951, one of the first French ufology research groups. Thirouin directed the bimonthly bulletin of this organization and contributed to multiple publications. He spent 25 years researching UFOs, believing them to be extraterrestrial in origin. He died on July 24, 1972, after a long illness.
