He studied physics and astronomy at the Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen and the Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht, graduating as an astronomer. Since 2012, he has served as the editor-in-chief of the school newspaper at the Christian University of Applied Sciences Windesheim in Zwolle/Almere.
