Marcel Vervloesem was a Belgian activist against child pornography who later came under scrutiny for sexual abuse of minors. He founded the Morkhoven group in 1989 and claimed to have dismantled a large pedophile network, though his assertions were largely met with skepticism. In 2006, he was convicted of abusing three minors and received a five-year prison sentence. He faced further allegations and was imprisoned again in 2013. Despite various legal troubles, he continued to deny his guilt until his death in January 2018.
