Marcela Carena is an Argentine theoretical physicist who has made significant contributions in her field. Born in Buenos Aires on March 22, 1962, she works at the Fermilab and is a professor at the University of Chicago and the Enrico Fermi Institute. She has held leadership positions, including director of international relations at Fermilab and head of the theoretical physics department. Carena's research focuses on models beyond the Standard Model, the Higgs boson, supersymmetry, grand unification theory, flavor physics, and dark matter. She was elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society in 2002.
