Marcelina Galindo Arce was a Mexican teacher, politician, and journalist born on November 30, 1920. She was one of the first five women elected as federal deputies in Mexican history and served in the XLIII Legislature from 1955 to 1958, representing Chiapas. With a background in journalism after moving to Mexico City, she covered important presidential campaigns. Galindo also became the first female senator in Mexico and was the first woman to join the Electoral College, marking significant milestones in women's political representation in the country.
