He is primarily known for his impactful photographs documenting political and social movements in Latin America from the late 1960s to the early 1990s, including significant events in Chile under Salvador Allende as well as in Bolivia, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Guatemala. Additionally, he has a more personal side to his work, featuring nude photography, landscapes, and urban photography. Since 2015, he has lived in Chile with his wife.
