Marcial Álvarez is a Spanish actor born in Madrid on March 13, 1966. He began his career in theater at age 16, performing in various plays. His television breakthrough came in 1997 with 'Los ladrones van a la oficina,' but he rose to prominence playing subinspector Jorge San Juan 'Pope' in the series 'El comisario' from 1999 to 2009. Álvarez has also appeared in films and continues to work in theater. Since 2016, he has been a professor of New Technologies in Audiovisual Media at the University of Seville.
