Marco Antonio Chaer do Nascimento is a Brazilian chemist born on June 12, 1947, in Rio de Janeiro. He is a full professor at the Institute of Chemistry at UFRJ and has been teaching courses on Quantum Chemistry to students at both the Institute of Chemistry and the School of Chemistry at UFRJ. He also teaches in graduate programs. A member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, he was honored with the Order of Scientific Merit in March 2005.
