Marco Antonio Moreira is a researcher in physics education with degrees in physics from UFRGS and a doctorate in science education from Cornell University. He served as secretary of education at the Brazilian Society of Physics and taught at UFRGS until retirement. In 1998, he established an international doctoral program in science education at the University of Burgos, Spain. He was president of ABRAPEC from 1997 to 2001 and has made significant contributions to science education, particularly in physics, publishing numerous articles and overseeing doctoral theses.
