Marco Petta (1921-2007) was a Catholic priest and abbot at the Santa Maria di Grottaferrata in Italy. Joining the Basilian Order, he was ordained on April 5, 1945. He served as the librarian of the monastery where he researched Greek manuscripts and contributed to the Bollettino della Badia Greca di Grottaferrata, a scientific journal on Greek monasticism. In 1994, he became the abbot and remained until his retirement in 2000. Petta was also a prolific author, publishing numerous works on bibliography and manuscripts.
