Marcos Bucio Mújica is a Mexican politician, diplomat, and writer born on January 8, 1955, in Mexico City. He currently serves as the Secretary General of the Mexican Social Security Institute. Previously, he was honored with the keys to the cities of El Paso, Texas, and Las Cruces, New Mexico during his tenure as Consul General in El Paso. He served as a Federal Deputy in the LVII Legislature from 1997 to 2000 and was appointed Undersecretary of Basic Education in 2020 by Esteban Moctezuma Barragán under President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
