Marcus Ingendaay, born in 1958 in Bonn, is a German novelist and translator renowned for numerous translations of English novels into German. He studied English and German languages and theater studies at the University of Cologne and Cambridge. After his studies, he worked as an advertising copywriter and a journalist. Currently a freelance writer in Munich, he is also a member of the German Literary Translators' Association. He received the Heinrich Maria Ledig-Rowohlt Prize for literary translation and the Helmut Bräutigam Prize in 2000. His novel 'Taxi Driver' was published in 2003.
