Marcus Raskin was a prominent American social critic, political activist, author, and philosopher, born on April 30, 1934, and died on December 24, 2017. He worked for progressive social change in the United States and was a co-founder, along with Richard Barnet, of the progressive think tank, the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, D.C. Additionally, Raskin served as a professor of public policy at the George Washington University.
