Margaret Oliver Brown (née MacDonald) was a Scottish painter and illustrator, born on September 20, 1912. She initially worked as a commercial artist before pursuing her studies in painting at the Glasgow School of Art between 1937 and 1941. Brown was significant in the Scottish art scene and was a founder member of the New Scottish Group, contributing to the development of modern art in Scotland until her passing on November 17, 1990.
