Margaret Rhea Seddon, born on November 8, 1947, is a retired American physician and NASA astronaut. Selected as part of the first group of female astronauts in 1978, she participated in three space shuttle missions, spending a total of 722 hours in space. Seddon graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and received her medical degree from the University of Tennessee in 1973. During her NASA career, she contributed to various scientific research missions and has been involved in aerospace medicine and astronaut training.
