Margaret Taylor-Burroughs (1915-2010) was an American visual artist, writer, poet, teacher, and arts organizer. She co-founded the Chicago Afro-American Museum, now known as the DuSable Museum of African American History, and was an active member of the African American community, establishing the South Side Community Arts Center in Chicago in 1941. At 23, she became the youngest board member of that center. Throughout her career, she focused on teaching arts and exploring the experiences of Black individuals in the U.S., fostering cultural identity and artistic appreciation among children.
