The daughter of painter Konrad Petrides, she published poetry in the 1920s and later her notable novel 'Die Leidtragenden' in 1932, addressing issues of unemployment. Active in socialist and communist movements, she faced multiple arrests during the 1930s for her political activities. After World War II, she continued her work with the Communist Party, living her final months in a retirement home.
