Margarita Andreyevna Smirnova (Fadeeva) was a Soviet children's writer, journalist, and editor, born on March 2, 1927, in Cheboksary, Chuvash Autonomous Region, USSR. She served as the responsible secretary of the republican newspaper Mari ASSR 'Mолодой коммунист' from 1962 to 1982. Smirnova was one of the co-authors of the Soviet fairy tale story 'Приключения Петрушки' alongside A. I. Smirnov. She was honored as a distinguished worker of culture in the Mari ASSR in 1980, and passed away on September 23, 2022, in Yoshkar-Ola, Mari El, Russia.
