Margaritis Schinas is a Greek politician and former civil servant born on July 28, 1962. He has served as the Vice President of the European Commission for Promoting our European Way of Life since December 2019. A member of the New Democracy party, he was previously a Member of the European Parliament from 2007 to 2009, and served as the chief spokesperson for the European Commission from 2014 to 2019. Additionally, he was Deputy Director-General for Communication at the European Commission from 2015 to 2019.
