Margita Kresáková, born Vozárová, was a Slovak astronomer who gained prominence for discovering the comet C/1954 O1 at the Skalnaté pleso Observatory in 1954. This achievement made her one of the few women in the field at that time. Besides her discovery, she was active in the International Astronomical Union and contributed scholarly work on meteor stream activity. Margita's legacy is commemorated with the naming of the minor planet 9821 Gitakresáková in her honor.
