Margus Kasterpalu, born on April 16, 1961, in Haapsalu, is an Estonian theater director. He studied at Haapsalu 1st Secondary School and graduated with a degree in Estonian philology from the University of Tartu in 1992. Kasterpalu has worked in various cultural roles, including as a researcher at the Estonian Literary Museum and as director of Tartu Theatre Laboratory. He led the Estonian Theatre Festival from 2004 to 2015 and served as the artistic director of Ugala Theatre from 2012 to 2014. He is also a founding member of Saueaugu Teatritalu.
