Maria Vera Susanne Ask is a Swedish professor of applied geochemistry at Luleå University of Technology. She received her engineering degree in 1991 and her Ph.D. in 1999 from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, with a dissertation focused on in-situ and laboratory stress investigations in the North Atlantic Ocean. She became a university lecturer at Luleå University in 2006 and was appointed professor of applied geology in 2015. Her research primarily pertains to sediment and rock deformation and measuring in-situ stress.
