Maria de Quadras i Feliu was a Catalan translator and poet, born in Barcelona in 1903 and passed away in 1982. A self-taught linguist, she mastered French, English, and German. Enthusiastic about mountaineering, she translated various works on this topic for the Joventut publishing house. Quadras translated several works of the Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore into Catalan and adapted his poem 'El jardiner' into a musical. In the 1970s, she translated works by Khalil Gibran, and also translated novels by notable authors like Pearl S. Buck and Joseph Kessel.
