María Gembero Ustárroz, born on February 18, 1959, in Pamplona, is a prominent Navarre historian and musicologist. She specializes in Navarra's music and holds a degree in History and a Professional Piano degree. Gembero earned her PhD in Musicology from the University of Granada in 1991. She has taught at both the Conservatori Pablo Sarasate and the University of Granada and has published extensively on Spanish music history, especially focusing on Navarra. She currently works with CSIC and leads projects related to Spanish polyphonic music and traditional music archives.
