Maria Granvik, known as 'Brunskärs-Maja', was a Finnish folk musician born on June 21, 1913, in Korpo. She mastered the violin at a young age and primarily played traditional songs from the Åboland archipelago. Granvik was notably recognized for her collaboration with Erik Jansson, which spanned several decades and flourished in the 1970s and 1980s. She founded the Korpo spelmanslag in 1970 and published a poetry collection in 1992. Granvik was also involved with the Suomen Svenska Spelmansförbund, receiving honors for her contributions to folk music.
