Maria Josephina Mignone (nee Martinez) was a Brazilian pianist born on March 23, 1923, in Belem. She studied under notable teachers including Oskar Lorenzo Fernandez and Magda Tagliaferro. Mignone was known for her long-time piano duet with composer Francisco Mignone and recorded several albums of his compositions. Following his passing, she continued to be the primary interpreter of his piano works. She founded the Francisco Mignone Duo in 1996, dedicated to performing his music. She passed away in São Paulo at the age of 101 due to pneumonia and old age.
