María Martha Díaz Velásquez, also known as the Heroine of Chinazo, is a Honduran businesswoman and politician born on August 30, 1951, in Tegucigalpa. She served as the Minister of the National Women's Institute during Carlos Flores' presidential term from 1998 to 2001, a position she also held again in 2009. Díaz Velásquez is notable for founding the National Women's Institute and for her contributions to women's rights in Honduras.
