Maria Petrou (born May 17, 1953 - died October 15, 2012) was a Greek-British scientist specialized in artificial intelligence and computer vision. She developed a number of computer vision recognition technologies that are taught at the University of Surrey and Imperial College London. Maria authored several scientific papers, contributing significantly to her field.
