She holds a PhD in Chemical Sciences from the University of Barcelona and furthered her studies in the United States. Gil has written notable works including 'Créixer amb Poe', which won the Joaquim Ruyra Prize for youth narrative in 2007, and 'Brahe i Kepler. El misteri d'una mort inesperada' (2011). She also creates children's stories inspired by historical figures and currently resides in Scotland.
