Mariam Fardous is a pioneering Saudi Arabian doctor who made history as the first Arab woman to dive under the Arctic ice. At the age of 33, she became the first Saudi woman to explore the depths of the Arctic Ocean, following two Russian women in this achievement. She completed her medical degree in medicine and surgery from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and earned a master's degree with honors in epidemiology from King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in Riyadh. She was born in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, where she currently resides.
