Ioan Marian Blaj, born on March 11, 1978, in Bran, Brașov County, Romania, is a former Romanian biathlete and current biathlon coach. He began his biathlon career in 1995 and quickly rose to the national team. Blaj competed in his first World Cup season in 1998/99 and had various international results, including competing at the Olympics in 2002 and 2006. After retiring, he transitioned into coaching, mentoring athletes like Casius Gerbacea, while continuing to influence the sport from a training perspective.
