Marie Svatošová, born Maršíková on November 20, 1942, in Hlavňov, is a Czech general practitioner, writer, and journalist. After the Velvet Revolution, she became a founder and leading figure in the Czech hospice movement, establishing the civic association Ecce homo in 1993 to support home care and hospices. In 1995, she played a key role in launching the first Czech hospice in Červený Kostelec and served as president of the Association of Providers of Hospice Palliative Care. She received state honors from Czech presidents Václav Havel and Miloš Zeman in 2002 and 2015.
