Mariel Clarmont (born Claude Elisabeth Marie Pichon on April 20, 1931) is a French creator and designer known for her wall hangings and embroidery. She was long associated with the 'Chanson poétique Rive-Gauche' movement, having registered eighty songs with SACEM. Her creative work also includes poetry, tales, and short stories. After an accident, she became interested in American traditional patchwork and developed a unique approach that combines it with Zen-inspired rhythms. Her wall hangings feature colorful mosaic patterns and relief effects achieved through completely hand-stitched techniques.
