Marinda van Zyl, born on September 11, 1948, in Gobabis, Namibia, is an Afrikaans author. In 2011, she was a runner-up in LAPA's novel competition for her manuscript 'Vrypas na Vergenoeg' published as 'Wilhelmina Radebe kom tuis'. Her novel 'Amraal' was shortlisted in 2015 for the NB publishers' Great African Novel competition. She holds honors degrees in History and Library Science from Unisa, an MA in History from UOVS, and a PhD in History from Vista University. She and her husband reside in Langebaan since retiring.
