Marisa Manchado, born on June 7, 1956, in Madrid, is a classical music composer and educator. She served as the Deputy General Director for Music and Dance at the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM). Among her works are two operas: 'El cristal d'agua frío' with a libretto by Rosa Montero and 'Escenes de la vida cotidiana'. She is currently working on a third opera based on 'La Rexenta' by Leopoldo Alas Clarín, with a libretto by Amelia Valcárcel. Her concert for harp and orchestra, 'Notes pa la paz', premiered in Madrid in 2012.
