Marit Ruth Rustad is a Norwegian senior lecturer at UiT, The Arctic University of Norway, born in 1953 in Harstad. She has been teaching since 1983 at the welfare educator program at UiT, which was previously known as Harstad College until 2016. Rustad was instrumental in establishing the welfare educator program at Harstad College. Besides her teaching role, she has held various positions including department head and study leader. She has also been active in local politics for 20 years and was involved in organizing International Women's Day events at UiT.
