Màrius Sampere i Passarell (1928-2018) was a Catalan poet born in Barcelona. He won the Carles Riba Prize in 1963 for his debut collection, 'L'home i el límit', although it was not published until 1968. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, he received several awards, including the Recull-Maria Ribas i Carreras and the Miquel de Palol. In the 1990s and early 2000s, he gained public and institutional recognition with honors such as the Crítica Serra d'Or for 'Subllum' (2000) and multiple awards for 'Les imminències' (2002), including the Creu de Sant Jordi in 1999.
