Marjory Gordon was an American nursing theorist and educator recognized for her significant contributions to the field of nursing, particularly through her development of the 'Gordon's functional health patterns' theory. She earned her nursing degree from the Mount Sinai Hospital School of Nursing and obtained a master's degree from Hunter College, as well as a doctorate from Boston College. As the first president of NANDA and a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, she was honored as a 'Living Legend' in 2009. She served as an emeritus professor at Boston College until her passing in 2015.
