Mark Carwardine is a British zoologist born on March 9, 1959. He gained widespread recognition for his Last Chance to See project, which lasted 20 years and involved travels around the world with Douglas Adams and Stephen Fry. The first series aired on BBC Radio 4 in 1990, and the second, a television series, aired on BBC Two in 2009. He co-authored two books on the project: Last Chance to See (1990) with Adams and Last Chance to See: In the Footsteps of Douglas Adams (2009). He is also a prominent environmental activist, broadcaster, columnist, and photographer.
