Mark Crovella is an American computer scientist and Professor at Boston University, specializing in computer networks and data science. His research enhances the understanding and performance of parallel and networked systems using measurement, data mining, and statistics. Notably, he co-authored the first text on Internet Measurement. Crovella received the ACM SIGMETRICS Test of Time award in 2010 and was named ACM Fellow in the same year, followed by IEEE Fellow in 2012, recognizing his influential contributions in network analysis. He chaired ACM SIGCOMM from 2007 to 2009 and led Boston University's Computer Science Department from 2013 to 2018.
