Mark Edward Kelly, born on February 21, 1964, is a retired U.S. naval officer, astronaut, and test pilot. He hails from Orange City, New Jersey, and is the identical twin brother of astronaut Scott Kelly. Together, they are the only siblings known to have traveled to space as of 2017. Mark participated in NASA experiments studying physiological changes in humans in space, observing differences with his brother Scott during Scott's yearlong stay at the International Space Station. Mark is the husband of former U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords, who survived a serious brain injury from an assassination attempt.
