Mark Valera, formerly known as Mark van Krevel, is an Australian serial killer born on April 24, 1979. Convicted in 2000 for the murders of David O'Hearn and Frank Arkell in Wollongong, New South Wales, he surrendered to police after the crimes. Valera accused his father of abusive behavior, which he claimed contributed to his violent actions. His sister, Belinda, later arranged the murder of their father. He is serving a life sentence without parole at Goulburn Correctional Centre.
