Markku Kalevi Kosonen (1940–2013) was a Finnish painter and ship's cook. He was the son of artist Erkki Henrik Kosonen and began his career at sea in the 1960s. Starting to paint in the early 1980s, he drew inspiration from his travels, particularly in South America, creating vivid, primitive naivism-style works. Kosonen exhibited regularly and was known in Turku for his unique Tunturi moped. He underwent a heart transplant in 1996, which eventually impacted his artistic productivity.
