Marko Čar was a Slovenian alpinist born on November 23, 1969, in Kranj. He began climbing in 1987 and became a successful ice climber, undertaking challenging winter and solo ascents in the Slovenian mountains. A talented snowboarder, he also conquered numerous domestic cliffs and participated in international competitions. Čar was recognized multiple times, being named the most successful Slovenian alpine skier in 1993 and alpine climber of the year in 1995. Tragically, he died on January 11, 2000, due to an accident while being airlifted after an incident at Aquamarin waterfall.
