Markus Ganserer is a German politician who has been serving as a member of the Bavarian Parliament since October 7, 2013, representing the Middle Franconia district for Alliance 90/The Greens. He was elected to the federal parliament in the 2021 German federal elections, taking his seat on October 26, 2021. In 2018, he publicly came out as a transgender woman, becoming the first openly transgender person in any German state or federal parliament.
