Markus Ponath is a German football goalkeeper born on January 13, 2001, in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm. He began his career in the youth team of FSV Pfaffenhofen before joining FC Ingolstadt 04's youth department in 2012. After progressing through the youth ranks and playing 19 matches in the A-Junioren-Bundesliga, he debuted as a professional in the 2. Bundesliga during the 2021/22 season. Following his team's relegation, he was promoted to the first team and is currently on loan at FV Illertissen for the 2024/25 season.
