Marleen Van den Bussche is a Belgian politician from the CD&V party, born on December 27, 1957, in Beernem. She has been politically active in the municipality of Maldegem since 1988, serving as a municipal councilor, and later as an alderwoman for civil status and family from 1995 to 1998. She became the chairman of the OCMW in Maldegem in 2001 and was nominated as the first female mayor of Maldegem starting in 2013. She held the mayoral position until the end of 2018.
