Marte Sæther is a Norwegian ballet dancer born on March 30, 1944, in Nordstrand. She trained under Rita Tori, Eva Haalke, and Gerd Kjølaas, later studying Martha Graham's technique. She joined the Opera Ballet in 1964, debuting as Odette and performed in roles such as the white swan in Swan Lake. Promoted to soloist in 1971, she retired from dancing in 1985 after her farewell performance in Glen Tetley's Strender. Sæther has also taught at various ballet schools and served as the second rector of Statens Balletthøgskole from 1987 to 1991.
