Marten Levendig was a Dutch journalist and correspondent for De Telegraaf and the NOS news in the Soviet Union. Born on February 26, 1960, in Petten, he gained attention for his work during a challenging era. He appeared in a Snickers commercial from 1988 to 1989, which was not well-received by the NOS management. Tragically, he passed away at the young age of 30 due to an aneurysm in Moscow, and he is buried in Dirkshorn. He served as a foreign correspondent for two years in the USSR.
