Martha L. Crump, known as Marty, is a prominent behavioral ecologist at Utah State University, specializing in the study of amphibians and reptiles. She was the first to conduct a long-term ecological study on tropical amphibians and contributed to understanding variability in amphibian egg size relating to habitat predictability. Crump co-authored a popular herpetology textbook and wrote several books for various audiences, including a memoir. In recognition of her contributions to the field, she received the Distinguished Herpetologist Award from The Herpetologists’ League in 1997.
